A few things I realised

The above image was taken a few days ago by me. It is a shot of four of my paper-collage that are available for sales. Most of the artwork (in the photo) are 5 years old. ------------ I am blessed with a 'truck-load' of artwork inventory, why haven't I opened a gallery? I have 24 hours internet on my mobile phone, why am I not blogging everyday? After asking myself that question, I NOW know what I have to do (next). First Collage (Art) for the year 2013

This is the collage of the week. It is also the 1st collage I made this year. I shredded about 3 leaves of newspapers into (over) 500 particles, then I glued them together to form the image you see above. I started the work on the 24th February 2013 and only 'completed it' yesterday (9th March 2013). If you like this artwork, you should consider visiting my other blog that features only collage at: http://collage-artwork.blogspot.com Thank you for visiting. Tools for making collage art (photo)

11days ago, I published a blog about my plans to make the largest collage I have ever made. {http://biro-sketch.blogspot.com/2012/08/getting-read-to-make-large-collage.html}. Anyway, I haven't find the time to start (after-all, "Rome didn't burn in a day") but I intend to spend the rest of the day in the studio. The above photo shows all the tools needed for the work (although, I would add some more 'cut-out little pieces of paper'). It is estimated that four thousand Little pieces of papers would be used to cover that cardboard). Those little cut-out pieces of paper (as showed in the...

Getting ready to make a large collage artwork

I'm preparing to make the largest collage-art I have ever made in my life. It is just about one inch longer than its predecessor. Until now, the largest collage I have ever made was titled 'G-is-for-Jesus' and it was sold 4 years after her creation. The size of the average cardboard paper (as sold in a book shop or art-supply-shop) is approximately 20.4 x 25.0 inches and I plan on making a 30 inches collage so I have to improvise (a way to attach 3 cardboard paper for the back). The above photos are pictures of the job at different stages. At the time I started the work, their...

Weekly Collage Blog

www.collage-artwork.blogspot.com The above *link* leads to another Blog of mine (that is) dedicated to my collage creation. It was lunched this year (2012) and I plan to update it once every week (God willing). A collage is an artwork made by sticking (with gum) bits of paper to form a whole picture. Here are links to some interesting post I recently published: ¤ Making Collage Art Can Be FUN (like playing a jigsaw puzzu) http://collage-artwork.blogspot.com/2012/05/making-collage-can-be-fun-2.html ¤ Making Collage Can Be FUN (like keeping a scrapbook) http://collage-artwork.blogspot.com/2012/05/making-collage-can-be-fun-1.html ¤...

CAST THE FIRST STONE: the tales of ‘I’ and the critical Down-Presser-Man

It as been said before, ‘forgive others and JAH will forgive you’._____ I would say, ‘forgive others and you have forgiven yourself.’ I am going to use a story to explain the symbols on this artwork. It is a collage. The following is not a true life story but an illustration that I only created to explain the art. In a small village, there lived a chief that is suppose to be happy and contented with what he has, but the chief rather prefer to be critical about a man name Bob. Bob was an immigrant from a nearby village. Bob was also a hardworking guy who just want to make a living and put...

Estelle – Come Over Love

One day, I was watching a Reggae Show called Reggae-Top-Ten hosted by Suzie Q. That day, they were playing a lot of Dance-Hall kind of reggae so I reduce the volume (because I prefer Root-Rock or Lovers-Rock reggae). I was not concentrating when I heard a cool beat from the TV. I increase the volume and it was Estelle and Sean Paul singing a song ‘Come Over Love’. Some few days later, I wanted to make a cubism collage where I would use shape to form an African woman’s face and I agreed to make Estelle from what I remember her face looked like (I know of Sean Paul before, but that was the first...

Facing the Moon

23.8 x 20.2 inches 60.3x51.5 cm An Original Card-board collage (coated in fine-thin plastic) for preservation, longitively and durability..... Accompanied by an Aluminum Frame (silver color) custom made.... This is a collage that is as hard as a wooden board. It was made by: I first cut little pieces of black and white card-board and then gum them together to produce this image of a girl looking out of her window (at night) contemplating the glory of the moon. This piece is part of my African-maiden series._____ The title is NOT Facing-Your-Fears rather, it is Facing-the-Moon. I did not mean...

Power Changes People

The founding fathers of my country (those that fought for the independence of Nigeria) promised us Electricity, Water and Good–road. Today, those that are running for political office are still promising us Electricity, Water, and Good-roads_______ The government plays so many games. Do you know that in the year 2008, the government are talking about revitalizing a locomotive rail way system? Other countries are talking about electric train that are almost as fast as a speedy bullet, these guys are still struggling to complete a project they have been promising from ever since _______ It...

Mummy-vile a Realm of Pity

If farm animals could commit suicide, I believe the farms would be much emptier because the animals would ask themselves; “There most be more to life than just vegetating, and mating”. If their master/shepherd does not take them to a land to grass, they would stave to death. They can not feed themselves. In their masters eyes, they are good for nothing except meet. Above is a picture of a collage. It was made by: I first cut little pieces of black and white card-board and then gum them together to produce this image (of the back view) of a Fat-a*s-man who is sitting on an invincible chair folding...

‘G’ is for Jesus

The tithe of this artwork tells something about the different opinion people have about Jesus Christ. G-is-for-Jesus . . . That G means something to some and another to others, for example: They call him God, Guru, Glutton, Good-Man and so on. . . Your opinion about Jesus tells something about your personality. . . As Jesus said; Who do men say that I am? He later said; There are a lot of things I would love to tell you but you are not ready to receive. I have many things to say to you but you are not ready for them. You might not believe this but; I saw a comedian on television who was seriously...

Michael Jackson, Monstar Sacred.

The above is an image of Michael Jackson. I watched on the television as Gregory Peck called him that name ‘Monstar Sacred’. His live-performances looks like animations. He even looks virtual so the name fits him indeed (he bounds his soul into his music) and I have always loved his works from my high school years... The photo you see above is a collage meaning I gummed little pieces of paper together to produce the image you see. Coated in fine-thin plastic making it look like a mosaic on Card-board paper (40 x 43 2/5 inches) 2005. Accompanied by an Aluminum Frame (silver color) custom...
