quitting blogging about art

Sometimes I ask myself; 'Am I dreaming? How can I ever wake up from my
dreams of selling my art online (as a Nigerian). Should I quite
blogging or should I intensify my effort?'

Then I find one of those blog posts where the author says something liker: "failour only happens when you quit"

Quitting isn't an option right now.

"Nothing in this world can take the place of
persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more
common than unsuccessful people with
talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is
almost a proverb. Education will not; the
world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence
and determination alone are omnipotent. The
slogan "press on" has solved and always will
solve the problems of the human race" -

Tools for making collage art (photo)

11days ago, I published a blog about my plans to make the largest collage I have ever made. {http://biro-sketch.blogspot.com/2012/08/getting-read-to-make-large-collage.html}.
Anyway, I haven't find the time to start (after-all, "Rome didn't burn in a day") but I intend to spend the rest of the day in the studio.

The above photo shows all the tools needed for the work (although, I would add some more 'cut-out little pieces of paper'). It is estimated that four thousand Little pieces of papers would be used to cover that cardboard).

Those little cut-out pieces of paper (as showed in the above picture), are actually part of some of my 'failed-painting attempts'. So I don't waste the used materials for the painting. Anyway, the last stage is to assemble the cut-out papers together in an orderly manner.

Thanks for visiting, I would upload the 'finished' work by Wednesday.

Just getting used to all the scammer out there

I regularly receive email from different con-star worldwide but most

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that: I use to see all your
messages so keep sending them... and, you might want to know that I DO
NOT HAVE MONEY.

I am an artist for crying out load (haven't you guys heard of the
Blessed-Poverty of the Starving Artist?).

The above image is a screenshot of my private mail box, just click on the image to enlarge it.

Getting ready to make a large collage artwork

I'm preparing to make the largest collage-art I have ever made in my life. It is just about one inch longer than its predecessor. Until now, the largest collage I have ever made was titled 'G-is-for-Jesus' and it was sold 4 years after her creation.

The size of the average cardboard paper (as sold in a book shop or art-supply-shop) is approximately 20.4 x 25.0 inches and I plan on making a 30 inches collage so I have to improvise (a way to attach 3 cardboard paper for the back).

The above photos are pictures of the job at different stages.

At the time I started the work, their was no light (electrical power supply) but currently, we have seen great improvement with the power supply (over here in Nigeria, West Africa). Funny because, just a few weeks ago, I published a blogs-post about the epileptic power supply at {www.biro-sketch.blogspot.com/2012/07/burning-midnight-candle.html}. May be the improvement might be due to Ramadan fasting.

If i can organise my time, this would be 'completed' in about a week from now but, I doubt if that is possible (because I am too busy at work, and when I close from work, I am usually too busy sleeping or doing some domestic or academic work)... So I forecast that the work would be done in about 2 weeks from now.

The next stage of the artwork would be to cut out the little pieces of paper that I would later glue together to form a collage artwork...
I am kind of excited about this particular artwork.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

God-willing, I would update it by October 2012.

I have already expressed my apology for any inconveniences this (break) might have caused, although I am sure only a few people noticed that the site was suspended for over a period of one week.

Thanks for reading through.

I wouldn't fall asleep

Why sleep now, When you have the whole of eternity to sleep (death).

I intend to start working at night (like working on the
"night-shift")... The good thing about work is that; for every job you
hate, their are twenty (20) people who are searching for that
position.

I pray God gives me the grace to stay awake (all night) Amen.

Twitter's Hashtag #tugis

Recently, I had the audacity to use the hashtag #tugis on almost all my twitter updates.

The purpose of using the hashtag #tugis was to associate the tag #tugis with the hashtag #art.

So, when a twitter user is searching for #art, he might notice that one of the displayed-result has an hashtag '#tugis' alongside '#art'. This might ignite his curiosity making him to search for the meaning of the hashtag #tugis.

Not quite a very smart idea (since too many people uses #art in their twitts).

Anyway, thanks for visiting ifeka.blogspot.com
